About

How I work

Intelligent, thoughtful, graphic design is a powerful tool for solving business problems, strengthening brand awareness, achieving differentiation, and promoting your products or services.

I believe it is my process that separates me from the competition. And my process starts with a relationship. Relationships are built on trust. But how do you communicate trust? I define that trust through accountability. The process starts from visiting client’s offices, reviewing existing material and researching the industry with accountability comes partnership. As such I do not view myself as a vendor – Alex Design is an extension of your business.

Phase I – Respect

I treat you with respect, as I do all my clients, and value your business, your ideas, and your feedback. I don't simply create pretty pictures. Instead, I research your industry and your competitors. By knowing what your competitors use for marketing materials and advertisements, I can strategize the most effective visuals for your business. The result? A solution that meets your goals, such as increased revenue.

In the interest of this partnership, I strive to achieve both design and operational success. Not only do I deliver quality design, I function under a disciplined style of project management, scheduling and accounting to deliver on time and within budget.Once a working relationship has been established, I begin to work on a personal connection with the client.

I conduct a kick-off meeting where I expect the client to do most of the talking. I want to define the client’s likes and dislikes and to understand why projects have failed or succeeded in the past.

I will also review existing marketing materials, current and potential problem areas, key audience members and any additional issues relevant to the project. This phase is also meant to define the size and scope of the project, budget and delivery date.

The conclusion is a clear definition of the project objective, target audience, tone and manner, and any other design consideration. I will also determine how to measure the project’s effectiveness, agree on process, detail a deadline and provide an estimate for the client’s approval.

Phase II – Research

The benefits of the critical analysis process that Alex Design utilizes in Phrase I will take shape in this phase. I explore the extent of the business objectives determined in the pervious phase and create strategic concepts to meet those objectives.

AlexDesign approaches your needs strategically, with design that is visually beautiful, but that involves far more than crafting pretty pictures.

I begin the design process with exhaustive research of your company or product and others in your marketplace. Next, I develop strategic design solutions that set you apart from and above your competitors in memorable, appealing ways.

Phase III – Strategy

During strategic design development, I do not work in a silo but in collaboration with the client, considering all their key concepts. I will present a number of design executions to the client for consideration. The client’s selected design direction will be refined and layouts for all parts of the projects will be completed

Whether the medium is a website, a brochure, stationery or a logo, my goal is to capture the essence of what makes your company unique, with design that stands the test of time – because it’s based on sound strategy and proven principles, rather than today’s fads.

Phase IV – Solution

Deliverables Final designed (approved by the client) will be submitted to the client on a CD or files will be uploaded to the client’s server. If the design was done for a website, a client would receive Photoshop’s (PSD layered files), html files and any other files associated with the web design. If the design involved a logo or corporate identity redesign, a client will receive all vector logo formats and print ready files.

I’m not afraid to reach beyond the assignment, finding ways to get the most long-term value from your design investment and using the latest technology to strengthen your online presence.

After all, taking a deeper interest in my clients’ goals has created working relationships measured in years, and helped them achieve new levels of success.
